Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium magnets, also known as NdFeB or NIB magnets, are a new type of rare-earth permanent magnet material released in 1983. Prior to this, the two mainstream rare earth permanent magnet materials were AlNiCo and SmCo, mainly made from Cobalt. Compared with the previous two magnetic materials, the Neodymium magnets are mainly made from Iron(~62%) and Neodymium(~34%), both of which have more abundance in the earth shell than Cobalt, result in the more stable supply and lower price of Neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets have more superior magnetic properties, with a theoretical magnetic energy product of up to 64 MGOe. So a Neodymium magnet offer a stronger pull force than that of AlNiCo and SmCo magnets in the same size.

Generally Neodymium magnets perform better in nearly all aspects, except for the lower Curie temperatures. Conclusively, all the advantages make Neodymium magnets the preferred choice for applications with operating temperatures below 150°C.

Neodymium magnets now have been widely used in consumer electronics, environmental protection and energy saving, defence, aerospace and many other fields. It has greatly improved the performance and reduced the cost of products in these areas.

EPI Magnets specializes in the manufacture of neodymium magnets for a wide range of industrial applications. We have the advanced technology, experience and engineering expertise in this field.
