Plastic/Rubber Coated Neodymium Magnets

Plastic/Rubber Coated Neodymium Magnet is a NdFeB magnet covered by durable plastic or rubber coating.

The plastic/rubber coating protects the Neodymium magnets against chipping, corrosion and water. So the Plastic/Rubber Coated Neodymium Magnet has incredibly water-proof and damage-proof performance in multiply applications. This character makes Plastic/Rubber coated magnets widely used in aquariums, marine environments, construction sites and outdoor applications, etc.  As for a worse operating environment (acid/alkaline environment, etc), PTFE Coated Magnets are recommended.

Meanwhile, the plastic/rubber coating offers additional friction so that the Plastic/Rubber Coated Neodymium Magnets have great slip resistance to be used in many holding applications. When the magnets are applied to a metal surface, the coating could also protect from scratching the contact surfaces.

Production Process

Over molding is the most common method to produce plastic magnets. And Encapsulation process of the rubber coated magnet is processed by vulcanization or injection molding. EPI Magnets have hundreds of molds to produce the standard magnets, but when it comes to special requests, a tooling fee is required and a longer lead time is needed.

Generally, the plastic/rubber coating color is black. Other colors are also available.
